This season, WSC entered its first team in the Lac St Louis Adult league. Our team was nominally Under 23, although was playing in an Under 35 mens league. Many of the players had played for the WSC youth teams in the past, or are current coaches of younger teams. With limited field time, all games were played away from home this season.
The U23 season came to an end last week, with a very respectable record of eleven wins, four draws, and three losses. The team finished third in the league of ten teams, scoring 51 goals and only conceding 20, giving the team a +31 scoring record. Lucas Clarke led the team in scoring twelve goals within thirteen games played.
After losing one of the starting goalkeepers, William Henderson, to an ankle injury early on, Max Conrads stepped in and recorded eight clean sheets… not allowing a single goal. The team also averaged 1.34 bookings a match, giving a total of 24 cards received, which tied them for first.
Besides the stats, this Westmount team had an amazing year. The boys had great chemistry from the start which helped create a fun environment to play.
Thanks to all the players, Captain William Roper and Coach Cameron. We look forward to continuing next season.
