The Westmount U14 boys, already crowned Lac St Louis league champions, travelled to Mascouche Saturday to represent Lac St Louis in the regional A cup. In the first game, the boys fought hard against a talented Laurentides team, with the game ending in a 2-2 tie after regulation. They proceeded to a shootout where they came away one goal short.
Following the Laurentides game, the team built up their energy with the local delicacies…pancakes and waffles (no poutine) before returning to face the Repentigny Olympiques.
The game was played in pouring rain against Repentigny, with the game ending in a 1-1 tie. Once again, going to penalties, it was nailbiter. Ultimately the Olympiques came out on top after 7 penalty shots.
Congratulations to the team for a winning season. They scored a series of firsts: The first Westmount team to win the league and represent LSL at the regional championship. Special thanks go to Aidan for travelling back from his new home in Hamilton to play in goal for the regional games.
