The U10 Girls closed their season with a tightly fought win against their coaches and parents. Playing an unorthodox 14×14 format on a 7×7 field, the parent team entered the game overconfident and were soon put in their place by a more skillful (and much shorter) team.
The Girls took an early lead off a free kick by Julia which sailed over the wall and straight past the keeper (her dad). The parents quickly equalised exploiting the long ball and no offside rule to score a couple of goals. The girls fought back, and with seconds to go, drew a controversial penalty kick. The penalty was skillfully taken , fooling the goalie passing close to the post leaving the girls ahead 5-4 at the final whistle. Well played, girls! A great way to close a fantastic season.
