U10-M Make Semis in Ile Bizard Tournament

The U10 boys played in their first tournament of the season in Ile Bizard this past weekend. The boys, coaches and parents weathered cold, rain and wind! The team even took shelter for two hours in Tim Hortons in between matches!!

We opened up the tournament with a 2-1 win over the Dollard Dragons. The boys started off very strong with numerous high energy plays and some great passing sequences. Through all the team work and passing , Edouard was on the score sheet twice for this intense game. Second game Saturday evening, Conrad opened up the scoring for Westmount with a great pass from his teammate Antonio and then our captain Lorenzo did a spectacular second goal from midfield, as well as scoring our third goal too. Westmount had an intensive campaign to get back in the lead and the boys showed areas of strength and held strong despite a very physical game and 3-5 loss to the Monteuil Noir(Laval team).

Sunday morning the boys were back in full force with a strong team performance and lots of energy. Conrad opened up the scoring within a minute of the start followed by a goal from Alex and Lorenzo. At half time it was still 3-0 but the Patrie de Rosemont came back to score two goals! The Westmount boys were victorious with their 3-2 win which secured the team a spot in the semi finals. During the semi finals the boys were back playing the Monteuil Noir (Laval team) in a very tough game as most of their boys were bigger than our boys, despite the loss in the semi finals the boys worked hard as a team and learnt a lot from their experiences. During the weekend tournament there were many great saves by our goalie Liam.

We thank our coaches for a great weekend and all the boys for all their efforts as they worked hard and showed some great team spirit throughout!
